Damla ("Damla", "the app") is made by RavenIQ. Contact: support@raveniq.ai.
The short version
- Damla has no accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics and no third-party SDKs.
- Your financial data lives on your phone, protected by iOS Data Protection and a Face ID or passcode lock. We never receive it.
- Damla can make encrypted backup files that you save to a folder you choose. We do not hold them.
- A few small online lookups exist (exchange rates, optional prices, an optional bank logo). They never carry your accounts, balances or transactions. They are listed below.
- Reading your sentences and statements happens on your phone.
What Damla stores, and where
Everything you enter or import: accounts, cards, loans, balances, transactions, instalment plans, people and debts, income and bills, notes, tracked holdings and settings. It is stored in the app's private storage on your phone with Data Protection set to the strongest level. A Face ID or passcode lock guards the app when you open it. Secrets such as your backup passphrase are kept in your phone's Keychain. We do not operate any server that receives this data.
Reading your sentences and statements
When you type or paste a sentence, Damla can use the language model built into your iPhone (Apple Intelligence), where your device supports it, to turn the words into an entry for you to confirm. It runs on the device; the text is not sent to us or to any other company by Damla. Without it, a simpler on-device reader is used. Bank statements you import (PDF or CSV) are read on your phone and are not uploaded.
Backup files
You can have Damla save an encrypted backup file to a folder you pick in the Files app. That folder may be on your phone, in iCloud Drive or on another device, so where the file ends up is your choice. If you pick iCloud Drive, Apple stores the file under your iCloud account and its own terms. The passphrase stays in your Keychain, so we cannot open the file. Damla keeps the most recent backups and removes older ones.
Optional online lookups
Damla works fully offline. These small lookups are the only times it contacts the internet, and none of them includes your accounts, balances or transactions:
- Exchange rates. At most once a day, and when you tap Refresh, Damla asks a public currency-rate service for rates. Only currency codes are sent.
- Prices (optional, off by default). If you choose to track holdings, Damla asks a market-data service for their prices at most once a day. Only the ticker symbols are sent.
- Bank logos (optional). If a bank is missing from the built-in catalogue and you tap "Find logo online", the bank name you searched for is sent to Wikimedia Commons, and you confirm the result before it is kept.
As with any web request, these services can see your IP address and the time of the request. They are third parties with their own privacy policies.
Face ID
Damla uses Face ID or your passcode only to unlock itself. Your biometric data stays in iOS and is never available to the app or to us.
Notifications, widgets and shortcuts
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. Widgets, Shortcuts, Siri and the share sheet pass information between Damla and iOS on your phone only. Damla does not read your messages: iOS gives apps no access to SMS, so bank alerts only reach Damla if you set up a Shortcut or share them yourself.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your data, do not track you across apps or websites, do not build advertising profiles, and do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. Apple may give us aggregated crash and usage statistics if you chose to share them with developers in iOS settings; they contain no financial data.
Children
Damla is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your choices and rights
Because we hold none of your data, access, correction and deletion are in your hands: export transactions as a spreadsheet from Settings, edit or delete entries in the app, and delete the app to remove its data from your phone. Backup files you saved are separate copies you can delete in the Files app. Contact support@raveniq.ai with any question.
Not financial advice
Damla shows forecasts and estimates from the numbers you give it. It is not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. See the Terms of Use.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
